Radiation Day 12 – A Solo Journey
Beam room music rundown:
- “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head,” Dean Martin – A little too on the nose, Dean, a little too on the nose.
- “Maybe It’s Time,” Bradley Cooper (I still haven’t seen “A Star is Born,” but I’ll get around to it.)
Today was my first day getting myself to and from my radiation appointment solo (thank you, amazing colleagues at Olin College for the absurd quantity of Lyft credits!), and it was pretty smooth sailing.
For the second day in a row, the beam room was running ahead of schedule. I think I must be the last patient before lunch because they seem to like to get me in there ASAP even if I arrive 20 minutes early. Fine by this guy.
Overall, things appear to be moving along quite well. I’m still having no negative side effects from any of the treatment or medication, and I get to see my surgeon (and try not to overwhelm her with my gratitude) on Friday. I’m hoping she gives me the green light to resume Crossfit.
Oh, and I cut out my steroid entirely today. A nap was in order this afternoon, but the same could easily have been said about pre-brain tumor me. 🤷♂️
